A Laser Open Day is planned for Saturday 14 March. If you think you’d like to try Laser sailing please come along. Various boats will be rigged at Hatston Slip and you can have a go in the bay. This event is to promote the Laser class in Orkney. Orkney will be hosting the Island Games in 2023 where the sailing event will be held in Kirkwall Bay. It would be good to have involvement from all the Orkney Sailing Clubs in the event, not just with competing but also with the race management. If you are interested please come along and get involved.
As far as the sailing goes, Orkney Sailing Club has fantastic facilities at Hatston with a large slipway, changing areas and showers. There are also wetsuits, buoyancy aids and sailing boots available for use. The Open day will be free.
